Walking between Arthur Street and Townline Road is just under 2KM.

The walk is on pavement from end to end unless you decided to walk on the stone portion beside the trail.  From the signage it is clear that the trail has been setup for ATV’s and motorized vehicles.  During this particular walk there were cyclists, baby strollers, and others out for a leisure walk.  In the past I have seen folks out in wheelchairs.

The trail has plenty of room for people to pass each other no matter the mode of transportation.

Great break in the day for someone working in an office, the trail has lots of trees and offers plenty of stress relief.

The Friends of Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail is a group of Lanark citizens, mainly in Mississippi Mills and Carleton Place, who champion the development of a non-motorized recreational trail in Lanark (through Mississippi Mills and Almonte to Carleton Place) on a portion of the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail, formerly the CP rail bed.  Find out more https://www.rail-trail.ca
